Ohio Disability Evaluation Attorney

Step Number Four in the Disability Evaluation Process

Can You Perform Any of Your Previous Work?

Not being able to work or earn a decent income because of a physical or mental condition is frustrating enough. Unfortunately, that's not enough for the SSA. You need to be able to prove that you're disabled under the SSA's very limited definition of the word.

We can help you do that, and more.

Founded in 1985 and dedicated solely to handling government disability claims ever since, Shifrin Newman Smith Inc. has helped thousands of people overcome the challenges posed by the SSA's complicated disability evaluation process. Don't give up. We won't.

Call our lawyers directly at 877-230-5500 (toll-free) or contact us online today. The consultation is free and there are no attorney fees to pay unless we win.

Can You Perform Any of Your Previous Work?

If your impairments do not meet or equal any of the listed impairments, the SSA will review the medical evidence to determine your "residual functional capacity" before it moves on to step four.

What does residual functional capacity mean? Basically, it is the most you can still do despite your limitations. And now comes step four: Can you meet the physical and mental demands of any job that you have held in the last 15 years?

If the SSA finds that you can still do one of those jobs given your residual functional capacity — it will deny your claim for disability benefits. If the SSA thinks you can't perform the demands of your previous work, the process moves on to step number five: Can you do any other job?

If We Don't Win, You Don't Pay Any Attorney Fees. It's Just That Simple.

Our offices are located in Akron and Cleveland, and our attorneys help people throughout the state of Ohio.

If we can't help you by recovering Social Security Disability benefits, you don't have to pay an attorney fee. There is absolutely no risk. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. To schedule a free consultation, call 877-230-5500 or contact us online.
